Christian Alberg. Coach Christian was a four year starter at AMHS and was recruited to play attack at D III McDaniel's College in Baltimore. Christian played an instrumental role in starting the program at AMHS where he earned All State honors. He is ready to continue the growth of lacrosse in his hometown.

 

 

 

Steve Cutia grew up grew up in Cortland, New York, just 30 minutes outside of Syracuse. Steve has had a lacrosse stick in his hands since he was 4 or 5 years old. Steve played High School lacrosse at Cortland High School. At Cortland he played all four years of Varsity Lacrosse as an attackman from 9th-12th grade. Scoring more than 250 career points at Cortland, Steve received multiple MVP awards and still holds the record for most assists in a career with over 150. He was then was recruited to play at Nazareth College in Rochester, NY. Nazareth College is a top ten Division III lacrosse program every year, with 3 National Championships to their resume. Coach played four seasons at Nazareth from 2005-2008. He also participated in the 2005 Final Four  and 2007 Quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament. Steve was Senior Captain in 2008. Steve is a great Coach. He is observant and is a motivator. Steve also has relevant and refined approaches to this great game. Steve has Coached with us since the Fall of 2013.

 

 

 

 

Jonathan Davis. With 15 years experience, severing  as  a  head  and  assistant  coach  at  the  high school, MCLA, and NCAA levels, Coach Davis compiled a .623 careering winning percentage before stepping away to spend more time family. In three seasons as Head Coach at Bishop England High School, the Bishops reached the South Carolina High School League (SCHSL) playoffs three times, advancing to the lower-state final in 2016. Under Coach Davis's leadership, the Bishops had 8 players selected to the  SCHSL All-State team and 13 players to the All Lower-State Team, including the 2016 Lower-State Goalie of the Year, Lower-State Midfielder of the Year, Lower-State player of the year and an All-American Midfielder.

 

Before moving to South Carolina, Coach Davis served as an assistant coach at the St. Albans School in Washington, DC under hall of fame coach Malcolm Lester. Prior to his time with the Bulldogs, Coach Davis served as an assistant at Oakton High School under Head Coach Tony Gray, winning the Virginia State Championship in 2005. Additionally, Coach Davis served as a coach for a highly successful Washington Metro Area MadLax U-15 team and worked as a field manger and camp counselor for TripleEDGE Lacrosse.

 

 

 

Ed Dougherty.  Coach Ed is a Long Island native with over 18 years of lacrosse experience. He was recruited to play defense at D III national powerhouse SUNY Cortland where he graduated in 2008. He has trained 20+ All State/Lower state players in his 4 years at Magnet HS and has been with Team Coastal since its start in 2013.

 

 

 

 

Tim Guba grew up in Seaford New York and was an honored attackman and midfielder. He then played for the legendary Coach Richie Moran in the late 1970’s at Cornell University. While at Cornell he was a member of numerous Ivy League championship teams and a National Championship team that still holds the NCAA record of 42 straight victories. Upon graduation he played for numerous club teams while embarking on a 35 year career on Wall Street.  He founded the Pelham New York girl’s lacrosse program and was honored with the Marshall Award as a volunteer who has made significant contribution to recreation and youth services. He moved to Daniel Island two years ago and was an assistant coach for Bishop England High School boy’s team who captured the 2017 4A state championship.

 
 

Steve Kamp. Coach Kamp began his lacrosse coaching career in Dryden, NY and has spent the past 5 years at Academic Magnet HS. He has a lengthy track record of winning and helping players achieve their goals, both on and off the field. His teams are annually ranked in the top 10 each year is SC.

 

 

 

Zach ParkerCoach Zach played HS lacrosse for Academic Magnet where he started as a LSM. He also spent his summers playing lacrosse for Team Coastal and is looking forward to growing the game and coaching Charleston's youth players. Zach has spent time coaching for Mt. Pleasant recreation and the Brickyard swim team. He is currently pursuing a degree in Mathematics and Education.

 

 

 

 

Wyatt Phillips is currently a member of the College of Charleston Men’s Club Lacrosse team and a Business Administration major at the college.  He was a graduate and four-time varsity player at Fort Mill High School. In those years he was a member of the 2011 and 2014 State  5A SCHSA Championship teams. For the past 12 years Wyatt has played midfield as well as long stick midfield. In 2013, Tyler was selected to be first team all upper-state, as well as a first team all-state long pole.  In 2014, he was elected co-captain and helped lead us to our second state championship as well as first team all upper-state midfield. 

 

 

 

 

Coach Rizzo was a 2x Captain at the University of North Carolina, where the Tar Heels won a National Championship (2016) and two ACC Championships (2013 & 2017). Mark was a business administration major through the Kenan-Flagler Business School and was named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll each year at UNC. Off the field, Rizzo led the team’s community service efforts and was awarded the ACC Top Six for Service Award, as well as the Dan Andrews Leadership and Community Service Award. He also was named a Tar Heel Leader of Distinction, the highest honor bestowed by the Carolina Leadership Academy. 

 

A Long Island Native, Rizzo recently moved to Charleston following graduation and is very passionate about growing the game of lacrosse in the Lowcountry. He started coaching youth lacrosse and mentoring young athletes as a coach for Long Island lacrosse organization, For The Love of the Game. Here in Charleston, Rizzo started Holy City Lacrosse to offer elite individual and small group training, complemented with aspects of personal development. 

 

 

Zack Swalhah. Coach Zach was a four year starter at AMHS where he earned All State for 2 consecutive years. He also played Team Coastal for 2 years and was an integral part of growing our programs. Zach is currently studying Electrical Engineering at Clemson University and is excited to coach this year's Lowcountry athletes.
